We are happy to announce that we are again able to offer NVQ qualifications in independent advocacy by acting as a satellite centre for the British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD). As the course content focuses on the underpinning foundations of independent advocacy, we found it fits well with the Principles and Standards for Independent Advocacy in Scotland,
Since then, 12 of our staff members have successfully achieved their NVQ Level 2 or 3 Awards in Independent Advocacy, with another two staff completing the Level 4 Unit in Managing Independent Advocacy.
From July, we will be able to offer the NVQ Level 2 Award on a distance learning basis. We are also able to acknowledge existing knowledge and experience of independent advocacy in Scotland, by offering an assessment only service.
