Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival

in Events October 11, 2016

We’re really pleased this year to be involved in three events that are part of the festival.

All three involve our service users and staff working in partnership with other agencies, while maintaining our independent advocacy focus of ensuring that people’s voices are heard and taken account of.

Each event has given us the opportunity to highlight how people can express their views in differing ways, generating writing and creative art works as well as through song and the spoken word. The art works produced during a workshop based around the theme of ‘air’ can be seen in the gallery space at Woodland View Hospital, while our giant crochet hook and recycled yarn is part of the Out of Sight exhibition at Summerhall in Edinburgh. On 21st October we are pleased to be a part of the Safe to be Involved! event at the Harbour Arts Centre in Irvine where participants in the Write to Recovery Groups will have examples of their work available for people to read and hear ,while the Singing for Wellbeing Group will be in good voice towards the end of the day.
